You may need to add more porch pixels, and push the ringing out of the visible area, into the porches.
What is happening is the beam is oscillating after retrace - it's speeding up and slowing down slightly, which leads to the light and dark bands.
If you reduce the width by ~10%, does it disappear?
My XG does this a bit too, because I have pushed the width a bit too much. I need to pull the projector back or add lots more porch pixels if I really want to fix it. |
I post them when I come home later, thanks.

I also have the same problem with my 9500 Ultra (jail bars). This only happen with 1080p input signals. My signal sources are HTPC and PS3 at 1920x1080 60hz thru VIM-HD HDMI 1.2 (retrace is short). I tried to move the raster and then adjust the phase but there is almost no margin. If I change the retrace to long the problem disappears but I loose a big portion of the picture. In case of PC signals I can use PowerStrip to modify the HD porches but in case of PS3 this is not an option.
If I connect the HTPC thru the RGBHV cable I can't see this problem.

My Marquee is from August 2004 and it is the same.
Are you using the VIM-HD too?

I Can't find the post, but at one time TSE said it was caused from a reflection of one of the coils on the tube neck (focus?), when using short retrace. Athanasios, are u using Frankenyokes? I have not put mine in yet, but am wondering if this will perhaps solve the issue. TSE' s recomendation was to use phase to adjust it out, but others have said that phase will cause convergence drift.
When I set up my projector using Blu Ray I set the raster well to the left and managed to dial most of it out. I however find the left side of the screen sligthly softer than the right (only visible at the bottom left with text).
If Frankenyokes don't resolve this, it may require a VP.

then add more pixels to the front H porch and H Sync Width.

I tried you settings Athanasios, but It didn't help much, other than it reduced the image size, and changed my refresh rate.
So now I have moved my PJ a little back, and uses a little less of the raster to the image, so that have reduced it to an acceptable level. It's not gone, but less visible now.
Thanks, Morten.

Hi guys,
I just wanted to post some pictures from my new HT room. It's almost done, I just need some curtains up by the screen.
Sorry for the image quality, bad camera.

Thanks for your reply Michael. Well for me the 6.1 system works fine. And believe me, the "small" SVS PB10 can actually shake the place up pretty well
