I'm floored. I missed this originally.
I talked to Al a few times. He was a beta tester for my adapters.
I'm deeply saddened.

I didn't know Moose personally. But like many others on this forum he was a cyber friend of sorts. I don't recall ever responding in the same thread as him, and I don't recall any specific conversations that included Moose. But also, like many faceless names here, he was a significant part of a small corner in my life. I am deeply saddened. My best friend passed away two years ago in the same way, and about the same age. I miss him terribly. I feel for Moose's family, his friends, and an obviously loving nephew.
May he enjoy eternity watching perfectly converged stacked/blended 9" CRT's.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know Jeff.
Your Uncle was the kind of guy that makes a forum like this fun to be a part of.Will you please pass my condolences on to your family and let them know that "Moose" had the respect of people he had never met, strangers that enjoyed hearing what he had to say, and friends in Countries all across the world.
I was really looking forward to seeing how he was going to use all that JBL gear....

Wow, you guys are fantastic. Thanks for having such compassion.
I do appreciate the membership as well, while I am not near the audio/videophile that Alan was, I do have strong interest in HT and will do my best to keep his passion alive.

I'm a little late reading this but Alan you will be missed.
Hopefully Alan is where new parts are plentiful, the tube are always minty, and the white are pure and uniform.

It's a strange thing posting on an internet forum like this. For the most part the usernames are just that, just a set of anonymous people that post thoughts and views on topics we like to read about, argue with and gain knowledge from. Sometimes you are fortunate enough to meet some of the people and that adds something to these anonymous posts, but for the most part you don't know anything of the name. I have never met 'moose' nor had any dealings with him, however I have read his posts and been interested in many of the things he wrote as obviously someone with lots of passion for his favourite hobby.
When something like this unfortunately happens, the people suddenly become real, not just a username, but a person with family and friends. This is a sad loss for his loved ones and also for the wider CRT community. May the pain felt by Alan's family and friends be tempered in some small way by the knowledge you are not greiving alone, he was one of the genuine "nice guys" around here and will be sorely missed by those of us who would be pleased to call him a friend.
