Curt's Definitive CRT Projector Setup Guide

http://www.curtpalme.com/CRTSetupGuide.shtm

"Here, humbly is a guide for first time projector owners to get the most out of their projector. Hey, veteran CRT owners might get something out of this too! Feel free to critique like crazy if I’m missing some steps (quite possible) and email me with comments. I’ve based this on the NEC XG, but of course the principles can be applied to any CRT projector, entry level or high end, ES or EM focusing."

Almost 50 pictures to help you walk you through the setup of a CRT projector!

Kal

Nope.

(a) Because it's going to likely be be tweaked
(b) It's more work as I'd have to maintain it in two spots
(c) It opens up a can of worms for people asking that every other procedure be PDF'ed which causes (b) again
(d) Nobody would see the ads that help support this forum

No, unfortunately not. It's not database driven content (no content management system). It's all hand written - my mistake. I didn't think it was worth it when I first started the site as it was going going to be a couple dozen pages. We're at 650 pages now. Smile

The forum does have a printable version button however.

People can pretty easily cut & paste into a Word document if they really want to. Takes about 60 seconds.
I could have also put the entire thing on one HTML page but with 48 images that would amount to over 5mb of content which causes a pretty slow user experience and dial-up users would be screwed (we had 2340 dial-up visits in the last 30 days).

Then I'd have to say you are doing a great job balancing the need's of the dialup user's and the high speed user's. My proverbial hat's off to you. Thumbs Up

You forgot to mention how to setup geometry for green tube. Bow/skew/keystone/linearity etc.
You brush over it on page 4, but that's it. You then go straight onto convergence.

A quote from page 4:

The edge and corner focus have much less range than the center focus, as with the astig adjustments. Usually I find that the left and right edge focus need to be high on the positive side, something between +50 and +90. The top and bottom focus controls are usually not set anywhere near that high, but whatever settings work to get the best focus is what they should be at:

Repeat the above for all sides and corners and for all colors, and you’re set to go!

OK, now that the geometry is hopefully aligned well, and you have a square looking grid pattern on the screen for the green tube, it’s time to align the red and blue tubes over the green.
