You can't uncheck 480p and some games don't do more than 720p.

I would imagine so. That is exactly what I did with my DirecTV HR21 units. Beforehand, it would change the DVR output to 720P for ABC and ESPN and if I changed to, say, CBS, HDnet, etc. it would change the output to 1080i. This causes a momentary lapse in video as the HDMI resynced.

I also just noticed that the movie trailers that came with the supplied bd disk packed with the player is not showing in 1080P. It must be 1080I or 720P
