Someone was selling a partial Crestron system in the buy and sell section some time ago. I didn't buy it, but it did get me interested and I have been watching ebay for some time. The problem is that I don't know what I'm looking for. I have also been looking at the AMX stuff.

Can anyone give me a Crestron primer?

For a control unit for a basic system, get an ST-CP. About $50 or so. THe wireless rx/tx, 4 IR outputs and about everything else is all built into the one unit.

I've had 2 here for 2 years, no time to set it up and play with it. Go figure.
