Hi folks,
this is really a minor issue, but maybe there's a solution/fix for it so I thought I'd ask. The problem is that when I switch the projector on when cold, the G2 is too high. You can even see retrace lines when looking directly onto the phosphor and blacks are a bit crushed because of this. This slowly normalizes within half an hour or so. So what is this about? Is this normal?
Greetings,
Tillman

Have you readjusted the G2 and if so how did you do it. Also if you cutoff the tubes can you see any raster in the lens.

Yes I have readjusted G2 for all three tubes as it was completely off. At first I did this by displaying a black screen at moderate contrast and brightness (sub bright 50 - 50 - 50) and looking into the lenses so that the raster was just slighly visible. Later I fine tuned this with a brightness testpattern to make colour balance more easy to adjust (again loking directly into the lenses) I will check about tube cutoff.

I think you'll find the problem in in the HVPS. You might find bad soldered joints or wandering resistors in the G2 circuit within the supply. You will have to take it apart to check.
