Anybody have experience with the B&K 467? There's one on the bay right now with an attractive BIN price, and a goodly collection of sockets.

I have tested B&K (not sure what model) once and got broken tube. I believe that B&K had too high rejuvenation current for projection tubes. Now days i use König TR551 ( also sold under Promax brand) its somekind ultrasonic crt rejuvenator and that has not broke any tube yet. But i mostly use that for tv´s.

TMI Very Happy

Thanks for getting the triple-entendre'!

My company has a VERY sophisticated test lab... so sophisticated, there are devices that, in all of North America, only we and The Ford Motor Company enjoy. Our techs have been known to invent things that become catalog products for the likes of Thermotron, UD, etc.

I'm going to take up the tube tap method tonight. Chip, if you want to be there for moral support I'd be happy for the company... Dropping another kilobuck on a tube is not something I want to do now that my other expensive hobbies are ramping up.

"A boat is a bottomless hole in the water from which money just vanishes" and with gas prices as they are, it takes on a whole new meaning. I can't make it tonight, Chris is working but I can make a stop-over tomorrow night. I got the mutant 3600 set up last night. That thing is just incredible. It does 1080P with ease, better than my 4600HD in the house. I wish I knew what was different. I'm tempted to swap everything over just for kicks.

Well, I found a CR-70 for a BIN price (including shipping) that was less than the typical selling price on eBay. I hope to test for real soon.

I did the tappity-tap routine, concentrating on the plastic outer shield and focus coil, to no avail. I may try to be a little more agressive, or just wait for the tester. Here's hoping that the universal adapter and setup book are enough...
Chip, do you still have that spot-burned green P19 for me to practice on?
And, regarding the Moome card... i can have my other transcoder up and running today and borrow you that for a while.

Well, I'm anxiously awaiting my CR-70 and have a low emission Blue P19 to play with... AND the good people at Sencore have provided me settings info for the CR-70 and 7000.
Judging by the screen grabs, they apparently have some nifty database of tube types, pinouts, and parameters for their three CR- tube testers. I'm hoping to wheedle the software out of them Wink

Well... the CR-70 came and left Chip the better off. His spare low-emission blue P19LCP07 is now a spare good-emission blue p19LCP07 Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

My P43 green P19LCP09, however, tests just fine. Thumbs Down Thumbs Down Thumbs Down
My green is about 75% full-scale in the "Good" window, but the Emission Life test shows quite a bit of movement. (Movement is bad.)

I plan on testing the Red and Blue from my Marquee, and Chips' spare Red, just to compare milliamp values for emission and emission life.

What are the odds that the Anode lead is bad? I can remove it from the bell and ohm it out I suppose. That's all I can think of... I've moved the anode around on the splitter, moved signal, G2, neckboards, even the whole tube from center to the Red location. Every test pointed to a bad tube, but now the Sencore is telling me otherwise.

take the anode wire off my red and try it. I doubt thats the problem though

edit, that red was bought un-tested so I can't vouch for it but test away Thumbs Up

Hey Woodie,
Take a picture of your splitter. I might have one here that'll fit.

It's literally all that's left, barring doing a pre-emptive short blast and cathode rejuvenation "just because" despite testing good.

I'll get that pic tonight, but I doubt the issue is the splitter since the problem stayed with the tube moving the lead to all three spots.

Despite the fact that the tube tested in the "good" range I decided to sacrifice a little cathode and did 2/3s of an auto-rejuvenation with the CR70. The tube now tests about 7/8 up the "good" side of the scale and MY WHITES ARE WHITE AGAIN!!!

I'm going to go slow and re-test tomorrow, then put the G and R back where they belong (they are currently switched) and do a white balance. If all is well after some endurance testing, it'll be time to order a red C element, three bellows, and start putting it back together.

Chip: Warm up the minolta... I want to do a real white balance before and after endurance testing to see if it drifts. Perhaps Sunday if your wing and kid timing work out?

--Edit: i'm going to let this thread die and stick with the "OK, what'd I do?" thread now that the sub-topic of Sencore has turned out happily.

The pinout Sencore provided for my test case, Chips low-emission blue, was wrong but fortunately no harm done: I found the pinout PDF thats' been floating around since Scott (I think) shared it.

This CR-70 may well be my best CRT related purchase... For $113 delivered its' (apparently) saved three thousand dollars worth of tubes!

Same here but I put out the extra cash for the CR-7000. Saved two tubes already with G1 and HK shorts.

Heres the PDF Scott posted.

$300 delivered but took over a year of searching e bay for a good price. Usual price is around $500 or more. I was lucky because it was in perfect condition. It was a Buy It Now item with no bidding.

The -70 was $80 BIN, $33 shipping. This was less than the recent average price...
Its' complete (all docs... the schematic, parts list, even the original ownership registration card!) and includes all the adapters, BUT (not stated and not shown in the ad) the outer case looks like it was run over by a truck. Internally it's super-clean tho, with no apparent damage.
