We've
still got a whole bunch of Sony 12XX sets listed in our Featured Sale
Items in this newsletter. I have purchased a number of
good used tubes, but for now I've listed these sets with the tube
conditions as stated. I will slowly start to put better tubes in the
worst of the sets, but if you've got a good set of tubes but a dead 12XX
projector, here's a cheap way to get into a fully tested set that you
can put your tubes into. I will be eBay'ing a bunch of my old tube stock
as well as I start pulling these tubes out.
I'll
be adding more tech info to the website shortly. I will add areas that
I've missed, or that people have asked about, but first I'll get the
Marquee tech tips section on the site (it's about half done!). That's been sorely missing...
A
couple of new things that I'm looking for:
2- case bottom for a Barco 1200/1208. I've gotten in two sets that had
big chunks taken out of the bottom half of the case, but the projector
chassis sustained no damage.
2- stigmator daughter boards for the Marquee 8500. These are the
daughter boards that sit on the CLM board. I got two sets in where
someone has robbed those, go figure!
Parts blow-out!
As I
am buying up parts in bulk, I am finding that I simply have far too many
parts in stock. I cannot move in my basement, so I'll be blowing out a
lot of good older projector parts on an as is basis. At this point,
pretty much any part for pre 1988 sets have to go as I just don't get a
lot of call for them any more. I will be keeping a few parts to service
what I am selling, So if you still have an old Barco with analog
convergence, NEC GP3000 or older, older ECP, older Ampro 2000 or
earlier, Sony 10XX set, now's the time to stock up on spare parts. I
don't really need to make a whole lot of money on these, I just need to
MOVE THEM OUT! Buy single boards or in bulk, I'll sell them cheaply.
Parts will be a bit more if you want guaranteed tested boards, or buy a
few for a lower price on an as is basis and test them yourself.
As I
go through them, I will also be listing a bunch of 7" tubes such as the
Sony SD 187 tubes and the 07MP/MSP. None of these tubes will be perfect,
but a lot will be very usable. Some will be listed in bulk on eBay, some
will be sold individually. Of course I have a lot more red tubes than
blue and green, but I do now have some medium wear blue tubes that might
just be better than what you currently have. Pricing will be cheap,
again I need to get rid of them.

All projectors have digital convergence, on
screen menus, come with a wireless remote, and I back the sets
as I do any others. The performance of all 12XX series sets are
quite similar, with the 1252 and 1272's being the newest models.
OK, I just got about 10 more of these sets in as
listed below. All have good cases and come with a universal
remote. I'm blowing these out, see the tube conditions below.
Note that I do have other good used blue and green tubes that I
will drop into the worst ones, and I'll update this list as I
do. I am listing the worn tube units as there might be some of
you that have good tubes but a dead set, and that would be an
inexpensive way to get a set running.
