Hey Nashou! Long time no see.

I haven't used my theater much for a while either because it's in my basement, and I've been renting out my basement to a housemate. So it was difficult to get down there to use the theater. I'm close to wrapping up a big remodeling project, and one change is that I have added a wall to basically move the theater into my space. It's not ready yet – right now the theater is stacked full of boxes Embarassed – but I plan to use it soonish...

Yes, but not self-imposed. The IC421 chip on the G90's YA board crapped out and replacements were unobtanium at that time. Took a year to find a cheap G90 that could donate a functional board.

Nope!

Still using it almost daily. Average about 5 days a week.

Doing the math since I went digital: Got the JVC RS56 installed in December 2012 and have put almost 5000 hours on it over ~1700 days, so we're averaging just under 3 hours/day.

I've only watched two movies this week. But I confess, I watched them on my RS45 digital wonderbox, and not on the Marquee hanging right over it. Reason: I have neck cards that are afflicted with the progressive blooming problem and I intend to fix that.

Actually I'm going to drop the Marquee and stick a G90 up there instead. I have one to use, might as well try it out.

But removing a Marquee is fairly trivial. Remove lenses, tubes, and power supplies and the rest weighs nothing. One man removal and installation. A G90 does not lend itself to that. Two men required, if you have a lift system. If not, you need about four.

Yeah, that's how I lifted my 8500, and the G70 before that. Took it from floor to mount in 2-3 minutes, by myself. Easy.

I used an electric winch from Harbor Freight to get the G90 hooked up to the PSS-90 mount. Easy 1 man job.

To mount the G90 I'm just going to use a come-along secured to rafters up in the attic.
It's been used with the Marquee for years. Works fine, two people can do it, or even one if you are willing to go back and forth
between the attic and downstairs a few times.

still waiting for your story, like for instance WHY? Wink

I don't use it as much as I would like, but definitely use it. Times I don't is because I spent 6 hours fishing with my kid and came home hungry, tired, and ready for bed. , or I was traveling , wasn't home that night , etc.

My best "burn times" come from TV series that I like , Game of Thrones , The Expanse , Walking Dead, etc. Otherwise movie choices last few months have been pretty dismal Sad

I haven't had an actual HT in over a year. New plumbing & gas in the whole house made things "fun" and now my HT consists of projector storage.

I miss having a place to relax, TV and movies are now watched on my computer Razz

Can't wait to built the new edition & garage though, I will then have my HT back Mr. Green

doing other stuff.

Also I got a motorcycle in may of 2015 , so been riding a lot when I can. Moto Guzzi V7 Racer . Love it !!

I'm sure it's a lot of fun, dangerous as Hell, but you only live once.

Too much time in the theater can be a little depressing , all things in moderation. sunlight -vitamin D is good for your brain.

Be safe out there Nash, "act like every other driver is trying to kill you" is an attitude I've heard is good if your on 2 wheels

And you'd probably be bringing a truckload back to your place, Jeremy. Razz I can see it already, projectors falling off the back, skewed across the highway all the way to your house. Mr. Green
