Does anybody have a suggestion what to use as a reference for comparing the tubes when setting G2?
Best regards.

It depends on the make and model of the set. What set have you got?

Hello
You may need to generate a test pattern called stairstep. It comes standard on some projectors; you may need a generator for others/

As Curt said, it varies from model to model and there will be a manufacturer's recommendation to follow.
If you were to, for example, adjust a Marquee's G2 setting with the contrast at 60 and then do it again with the contrast at 30, you would get very different results.
You can start by identifying your projector. That should have been the very first thing to mention.

Your google fu is weak. A simple google search for the 1209 manual would have taken you right here:

Learn to use Google. Ask it any question you'd ask us. It will often lead you right to what you want to find.

Thanks but I wanted to know what to use as a reference when setting the G2. For example if here is a good pattern or a section from a Movie that can be used as a reference when comparing the tubes. I searched but couldnīt find it on Google.
Best regards

Here's what I do. Put up a stepped gray scale, from 0 to 100 IRE. SHort out the jumpers on the CRT socket, all of them. Put brightness and contrast to 60. Set the drives and black levels to 50 in the color balance menu. Set the G2 pots so that 0 IRE is just lit up on the tube face, not enough to light up on the screen.
Done.
