Problems they had filming this movie actually turned it into a better movie too IMHO: The robotic shark they used didn't work well so it's rarely seen throughout the movie or only seen slightly. Supposedly Spielberg wanted it to be more visible but because of the issues it just didn't work out... something you can't see is always scarier than something you can. Another example: I found it a lot scarier that there was a single alien that you rarely saw in the movie 'Alien' as compared the hundreds that you often saw up close in the follow up movie 'Aliens'.
