Does anyone have contact info for moome other than through his website? I've sent two emails to him via his site over the last 4 or 5 months and gotten no response. I need to get my V2 EXT repaired while it's still under warranty and time is not on my side (expires the end of March '11).

In case you read this moome, the issues I've been having for some time now are:

1) HDMI0 port doesn't work. The EXT shows it is seeking an input on this port but won't ever use it even when I force it manually
2) I have a faint vertical line visible just to the right of center screen when @ 720p and the line shifts just to the left of center screen @ 1080p. I've ensured it isn't my Marquee 8500 (with Mike Parker SuperVim), the cables, sources, etc. are all working fine when connected to another display. It's definately the V2 EXT.
3) All 3 tubes flash while the EXT is searching HDMI0 and HDMI1 (before any sources are powered on). The flashing at the screen corresponds exactly to the red HDMI port LED's when they are illuminated
4) I'd also like to get a price for a remote as I didn't get one with the V2 EXT

Thanks!

moome...what's going on with this issue?
I don't mean to make this sound like I'm calling you out because I respect your work but I've been waaaaaay patient on this issue and I haven't had any response from you. I emailed you via Outlook the night of this post, and again a week later I went to your site and messaged you from there. And now here we are into April and the warranty has expired and I still haven't heard anything from you regarding return for warranty service authorization.

I know nobody wants to do warranty work because there's no money in it but the warranty is for a year and I feel I've been more than patient. Perhaps I just kept falling through the cracks and this is one of those regretable things that happens?

I'd like to get this taken care of... The vertical bright line and other issues need to be addressed. Please PM me to discuss this.

Thanks moome!

I am afraid the issue of the eventual failure of the HDMI ports to lock on in the V2 version is not uncommon and Moome has confirmed as such in recent E-Mails with him. I went through two of them(the original order plus the replacement)and they both eventually failed, both within the warranty period of one year. Unfortunately, it was going to cost me $65.00 to ship the second one back for repair PLUS another $20.00 to have it returned to me. There was also no guarantee this would fix the problem and it seems the V3 operates in a similar manner, so even purchasing the new model could result in eventual failure similar to the V2. I felt it was just not worth it.

I purchased one from the competition where the inputs can be operated in either an "Auto" fashion or at least one has the choice of locking on to one of them manually and it works fine.

the EXT V3 has option to turn off the Auto selection function. and use different control way, so there should no problem,
and for some AV receiver, like Pioneer, ... need turn off the Auto selection to get proper link.
open the box and short J7 with a jumper will disable the Auto selection function~~

Thank you for the reply and the PM moome. I'm not comfortable at all having to post my complaint publicly but I couldn't see any other way to get a reply.

I have the V2 so if I understand your reply then I don't have the option of shorting JP7 to prevent auto selection? That's a minor issue to me anyway as I dont' think much of most anything that is 'automatic'. My biggest issue is the bright(ish) vertical line that goes away when I take the V2 out of the chain and whether or not this model will support the remote control.

In defense of your products the v1 Marquee internal card I have has been working flawlessly since I got it when it was first released. Based on the performance of that card alone I am willing to pay the shipping to return my V2 for you to look at. By the way, I don't route any signals through an AVR so receiver specific issues aren't the problem.

Instead of having to retype all the issues to you in an email couldn't you just read my first post in this thread and reply to me in a PM as to what you can do about it?

Hi moome!

I just want to let everyone know moome is a class act! He not only corrected issues with my 'old' V2 that recently went out of warranty BUT he also updated the EDID and other what-nots while he was in there. He stayed in touch with me the whole time to let me know the status of the repair he offered me an upgrade to an internal card at special Curtplame.com member pricing. (I didn't take advantage of it because I'm waiting for what he's working on next). Twisted Evil

Amazing customer service moome! You 'da MAN! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
