looks good Ile!! I am doing a similar ceiling mount. I found a great fan for the project in an appliance shop! the extractor fan from a Jenn-air downdraft range-with a rheostat from the cooking element for speed control.I will eventually use a thermistor to control this fan.

I'm going to use Barcos own back fans to blow hot air from hushbox. Long throw makes it possible, because projector is going to be only feet or so from back wall. I probably going to use two or three 120 mm Barco NMB's to blow fresh air to hushbox front section. I'm going to take fresh air from another room floor level, so it's going to be as cold as possible.
I'm just building attachment hardware for tube rack and already painted few aluminium frame parts black. It's going to have similar black industrial look what this sucker.

No similar scoop of cource.

Got projector build up last night.
After start rasters was super bright and retrace lines was visible, I almost got heart attack...
But just G2 needed to turn down almost full turn, after that everything seem to be ok. When I tested neck boards with Jarmos (1031) test tube G2 looked ok as is, so that tube must have very low emission.
Heater voltage seems bit high (6.6 V) with adjustments meant for Sony tubes, so I'm going to drop it to 6.3 V today. No PQ impressions yet, but few pictures...
Yes it looks bit bulky, but that only makes me build hushbox faster.

Looks AWESOME!!
DIY projector Porn!!!
Does it have flapping Ile?
And are they the 120mhz neckboards?

Thanks.

No stepless flapping in 1200/1209 LC hardware.
I glued tubes to angle though, today I will see how well that turn out.

Yep and s-series input and driver boards, same rgb signal way what 1209s use.

Corner focus was very good as is and it seems that I don't need washer fine tuning.
Also colors, haloing and CR was better compared to stock BG808s.
Still need to do something to get better geometry to green tube, left side keystone adjustment didn't had enough range. I will swap neck stuff from blue. If that won't help, maybe I need deflection yokes from MEC tubed 808...
Also blue HV cable have micro arching, quiet snap once in a few second. RTV was bit lumpy (partly dried) when I glued it...

RTV was just fine. HV lead soldering to bell connector looked fishy, so I glued another lead.
I forgot to mention that neck board noise mod seem to work, I had only one modded board in projector and it had much less noise than other tubes when I looked through lenses. I make more tests after I get it running again. I hope those ferrite core inductors near tube wont cause any problems with stability.

Nashou66 wrote: | Ile what value were those Inductors and are they high enough current rated? Aslo you could possibly change out those carbon comp resistors like in the Marquee Neck board mod to Ceramic Ohmite resistors.
Athanasios | 33 mH 1.8A, that is probably ten times what those lines takes.
I chanced all carbon comp resistors to Ohmite in my previous projector few years ago and I'm not sure if it was worth all that time and money. But maybe some day...

I'm thinking to make convergence tray cooling little better and realized that 808's have two separate temperature controlled fan systems. One sensor in smps that controls back end fans and one in convergence tray. My other Barcos have only one control system. Convergence fan voltage is rising much faster. I have to measure these voltages also after projector have been running hour or so, to see if convergence fan runs much higher.

That`s good idea ,I`m using my D808s one 120mm fan and now the convercence is much stabil than before (and quiet)

In weekend I made holes to back wall and elevated 808 to ceiling. Small hole is used for hot air channel and bigger hole over it for fresh air that is pushed between wall from floor level.
Now I "just" need to make hushbox, new screen and get ceiling and walls bit darker...

Little update.
Box is working great and it's pretty darn quiet. Bookshelf that is coming against back wall should make it even better, then fresh air fan noise through wall should be lower. Shelf under hushbox was reason why I couldn't use hinges for box bottom cover.
It still need paint and I'm going to build rear speakers inside lowered ceiling that is coming to be in same level with hushbox bottom...

Bedroom side of wall is only ready part of my project.
I use two 120x38 mm 80 CFM fans for fresh air, those are feeded from Barco back end fan power lines. Line is feeding fans with only 7.8V, so those are quite silent. Hot air is coming out with Barcos original fans, no extra fans needed in my case.
First I dried air filtering for cooling air, but filter was decreasing too much air flow so I make only gratings for fans and hot air channel. With auto cabin filter fans was needed to run with 13 V and without filter about 8V is enough.

Nice Job on a tough project!!!
Athanasios | Sides, 1/2 of bottom and 1/3 of top have 2" sheets of polyester insulation material wrapped to black cloth, it can be seen in two of those pictures. Also exhaust channel and back wall (near fans) have few small peace of that same material.
