lol, it is possible since AVS does it. You must be thinking a lot more complex then I meant.

I want it to search for keywords in your subject line and then show a slew of threads that might be similar to 'help' prevent duplicate questions.

hopefully it isn't just vbulletin that does this..

Ah! I get it! Yeah. They search in the same forum for topics with the same key words and list them for you before you post so that you can see if a similar subject may have already been posted.

I don't think it's built into vbulletin. I think it's an add-on.
