|
|
Hello guys,
just wanted to know if there are schematics available for the LVPS for Marquees?
another LVPS had to be exchanged on my projector last weekend
and the setup guy told me there's no way of repairing a LVPS
due to not having any schematics.
since they are nor manufactured anymore, there will be a time when
they become rare as well and cannot be gotten on the market.

Yes, normally it's not worth repairing if the MOSFETs are blown.

it was quite interesting what happened last weekend during the setup of the projector.
first, we had problems getting the whiter than white right , everything was washed out in the higher whites.
after a couple of hours trying to get it right, we stopped and changed HDMI cables.
1st problem solved.
then after a about 2-3 hours of running we noticed that the picture got duller and dimmer.
the 3 dimensionality and snap the picture had before went away.
switching it off and waiting for about half an hour brought the snap back only to see it
gradually go away again.
some head scratching and guesswork finally got us to change the LVPS.
everything seems to be fine now even after 4 hours constant running.
it must be something temperature related with the LVPS.
both cooling fans were / are running normally.
It's a Marquee, you never know what you gonna get the day after.

Check the filament voltage to make sure it's not drifting. even if it's an Ultra, someone at some point may have put an older SMPS in there without the filament mod.
