Has there been any news on this front? I'd just as soon keep this Nvidia 8500GT, but if powerstrip will still be a no-go, I guess I'll have to sell it and get an ATI.

Would the Nvidia be ok in XP?

Nope I had an Nvidia 8600 and couldn't make the custom timings stick using their drivers in XP and powerstrip doesn't work with the 8000 series cards. Thumbs Down

I will second that. My ASUS/ATI HD-3850 w/512MB DDR3 is a sweet card. I think the image might be a tad tighter then the Nvidia too.

I like the fact it comes with an HDMI adapter w/audio, if I choose to use it down the road.

Nvidia has known about this since they introduced the cards and haven't fixed it (yet)

I look forward to selling this Nvidia POC and getting a card that has descent support.
I hope Nvidia is reading this because the 10,000 Home Theatre subscribers are and each of them has quite a few friends. Not to mention the 100,000+ Subscribers over at AVS with the same ideas...
I wonder if that will get their attention. hit them where it hurts $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Hey I switched back to ATi hell and I'm already having problems. Nvidia! RELEASE the code so powerstrip can be written for your 8xxx series cards!

I never game...and probably never will.

Is the 2400HD not able to do 1080p? If so, I guess the 2600 would be fine...?

So guys, here is a chance to use your voice to persuade NVIDIA to support powerstrip (of at least fix their own sh*tty driver) for the custom resolutions we need.
i'm on the fence whether or not i'm dumping the nvidia in favor of an ATI. I'm leaning on dumping it. Probably one more session of screwed up settings on the customs timings and that'll push me off the NVIDIA bandwagon. They are in the doghouse now. It won't take much.

I just picked up an Ati 2600xt for my HTPC, I was looking at the Nvidia but the only card that would work for me would be the 7950 as I need custom resolutions. I'm running 1920x800p @ 60Hz.

That is the point. we are trying to convince NVIDIA that we all need custom resolutions. Their driver is inadequate and they don't support powerstrip with the 8000 series cards.
If they don't rectify the situation, they will lose all of our business permanently.

Screw Nvidia...they simply can't listen to their customers.

I sold mine, and I'll never buy another....
