I picked up the 3 disk Spidey set a short time back, and last night attempted to play the first one. Aside from the ongoing problem of needing to switch to analog output from my PC on titles with TrueHD only because PDVD does not play the "hidden" AC3 track as it should, which is very irritating but at least workable, it also played very jerkily. I stopped it after about 5 minutes and went to bed instead.

I know powerdvd was having issues with those movies, but I thought it they had been resolved. I'm running 3516 at the moment.

Anyone know what's up with that? Is there a workaround for smooth playback, or do they play better with an earlier version?

Well, I tried ripping to HDD, but no luck. PDVD just shows me a black screen when I try to "play movie file from disk" and select the top level. It plays when I "play media file" and select the main stream file, but is still jerky and I got the french audio track. Lost patience with that approach, and am downloading the Arcsoft .jp beta instead. Maybe that'll do the trick.

Wierd I bought the single of 3 and it played perfect. I dont use the mouse much with the menus, I try to use the keyboard it seems like the mouse pisses off PDVD.

Hmm.

Well, I haven't gotten to 3 yet. Still trying to watch 1.

The arcsoft software plays it smoothly, but only once I turn of hardware accel.

That might be a clue, although I don't have a problem with any other titles. It doesn't seem possible to turn off hardware acceleration in PDVD though. It is always on with the option grayed out when I am playing a disk.

I would just be watching it right now with arcsoft, but the sound doesn't seem to be acting properly. I am only getting the front channels no matter what option I try, including 5.1/7.1 analog out. Picking the regular DD track in another language works fine, though.
