I believe that he ordered it from Japan, thinking that the North American units were going to be another 2 months before being available. Then the North American unit he also ordered showed up 1 week later so he ended up with 2.Obviously he has been using the second unit for most of his watching so that is why the Japan unit only has 100 hours on it.

So I believe.Ask him to make sure.

1) He is not a decerning enough viewer to benefit from a CRT.
2) I wouldn't wish an Ampro even on him!

Funny post but he did help you out when you were manically going through one of your hyped up phases by sending you filters and un selfishly spending time helping you set it up .

How many of your fellow crt zealots would have sent you stuff to try and use for free never mind the countless answered questions , just for the sake of helping out a fellow AVSer .

So, aside from the name-calling condition ... will this thread evolve into the Pearl discussion?

Didn't he recommend the HS51 to you? I consider that PJ unwatchable between horrid SDE and poor black level.

Not having seen a G90, or any 9" in a home theater, but I can affirm that with a good 1080i signal over the HDMI, the Ruby is in fact very nice.

It seems they really wanted to love these projectors but leave with a disapointed face and a bad taste in their mouths.

That would be an interesting comparison though. ( with a forgone conslusion on who the winner would be no?)
