I figured it would need PDVD or something like this.
Already have a PS3 but need a BR upstairs in the HTPC. I might wait a bit more. |
The drive comes with a limited version of PDVD that only supports 2 channel audio.
Chris.

It came with a version of PDVD, but that version, which entitled you to a version upgrade, still did not get both the HD DVD and Blu-ray playback issues resolved. At the time, everyone else used a version of PDVD they paid for or bootlegged, or used another software player. That was my complaint at the time. They should have just not included any software and sold the drive as OEM.

I don't think that's true Chris. I ran the oem version for sometime when I misplaced the serial number for the retail version. I got 6 channel analog out with Vista.

You are correct, the actual software isn't limited but you need the retail serial number to activate the additional features. Without the retail serial number you only get 2 channel audio.

Sorry for asking if this was already given but what OS are you using?
Is the display Analog or Digital, if it is digital you either need to be sure the video card is HDCP or you have AnyDVD HD
Possibly you have a defective drive or if on XP you may be missing drivers.

I hate to say it but you might just have a bad drive. Do you have another PC you can try it in?

You changed what from SATA to IDE? In the BIOS? Used an adaptor? what?

Some computers have problems with SATA optical drives, if it's working with a SATA to IDE converter just stick with that.

My problem is that in my player when ever i place Blu Ray, the player continuously performs to read. DVD and Blu-Ray are work totally fine in other players. I should also declare that LG Firm Ware is updated to latest 1.03.
