I recently purchased the rtc2200 for my barco 808 and got ny breakout cable last night. I was looking forward to inserting the new device in line after my hdfury cable and seeing a hoopefully marked difference in the projection. I did, lets just say my blacks were enhanced, they took over, I have no picture. javascript:emoticon('Sad')My source is a Xbox 360 eilite with hdmi to vga pluged into the hd fury and then into the rtc2200. I then came out with rgb to 5 pin bnc cable approximately 25' long and into my projector. If some one can help me no how to troubleshoot this issue I would appreciate it. By the way you will need to type real slow I can be hard of understanding sometimes. javascript:emoticon('Smile') Thanks - B Swank Smile

Ok, just to start things off slow. Can you check for me:

1) What resolution do you have the 360 on and can the Barco handle that
2) There is no generally accepted standard for H and V sync coloring on breakout cables, can you swap H and V and see what happens?

My 360 is set at 480i as much as I would like it to be higher I have not been able to get the projector to work when I set it at anything else - That was going to be one of my future questions. I swithced the h and v cables with each other and it did not seem to have any effect. I have tried each of the input selections as well on the barco. I have been currently using input 5. When I had the 360 pluged into the hdfurry and then through the 6" breakout cable input 5 did work.
Thank you for any help you can offer - B Swank

The new RTC2200 now outputs 1Vpp sync, as far as I know any projector can be set to accept that 1Vpp but I cannot find in the Barco specs or the setup manual what it actually will accept or how to do it.

Any Barco specialist out here that knows more about the sync specs ofa Barco? If we don't get an answer in the next few days I will send you a new board that you can install in the case that will output 5Vpp sync, something your Barco most definately will accept.

B-Swank,

It sounds like you have two new parts, the RTC2200 and a new 25' breakout cable. It would be a good idea to test the new cable some how. If you have a multi-meter you could test each lead of the BNC's to the pins on the 15 pin (VGA) connector. Another way to test it would be to plug the cable into your computer's VGA monitor port and to your Barco. You will probable want to set your computer's resolution to 640 x 480 @60Hz and interlaced (if you have all of those settings), since you said you have not gotten the Barco to run at anything higher than 480i. This might be a good way to test different resolutions also.

FYI
I also just got a new HDfury, RTC2200, and new breakout cable. 3 hours of trouble shooting later, I found out the new breakout cable I had gotten was bad.

What you could also try is to change the polarity of the sync. You will find in the manual how to do that.

It is default set to negative. How much sync does a Barco need?

I have not yet located in my manual how to reverse the polarity but I did get signal through the rtc2200 via componet video and it will receive 1080p from the xbox 360 this way. When I use a xbox rgb output cable I can not get the signal to go through even without the hdfury box pluged in. I tried the 25' breakout cable on the back of a laptop and coul not get signal through that as well. Could their be something wrong with the rgb input on the rtc2200?

Thanks B-Swank

It is not impossible there is something wrong but it is unlikely. Can you tell me:

1) what resolution did you send through component that worked.
2) Which resolutions have you tried to send through the RGB input.

Also, did you try and hook up the RGB output of the XBOX directly to a monitor or projector just to check its VGA output is active?

I can send 1080p through my xbox360 component and the picture came in fine. The only resolution that I have been able to send through the rgb input is 480 and that is through the hdfury via hdmi from either xbox or ps3. As soon as I try anything above 480 I get a black screen. The hdfury is not being used when I am sending signal via component. I did try a rgb breakout cable for the 360 directly into the rtc 2200 at 1080 resolution and did not get any picture.

I suspect that the sync at resolutions higher than 480p is not wide enough for your projector. To fix that please open the case and move the jumper from JP5 to JP6 and from JP8 to JP9.

I am having the same problem as B-Swank - except I don't have a RTC2200. I am sending a signal from an XBox 360 via HDMI to an HDFury and into my Barco 808 through the RGBHV BNC connections. The signal is fine at a resolution of 480i (as fine as it can be at that low resolution). Is the jumper that you mention in the RTC2200 or on the projector? Is a RTC2200 required for my setup? Many thanks for your input.

Dan,

The sync jumper is on the RTC2200. I cannot say if you need it, but it may help your sync issues.
