Since the setup of gamma with the new cards seems to be somewhat of a head scratcher for many people (including myself when I first got the card this week), I decided it would be helpful to my own memory and to the community to document how Gamma controls work on the Moome HD cards.

While I have a Sony IFB-HD card (v1.332), I believe these instructions apply to all the recent vintage Moome Gamma enabled cards (as long as they have the gamma circuit and adjustment screw installed).

I just ran through these again on my G70 to validate, but if there are corrections or other observations, I’d be happy to revise the doc.

Enjoy.

Thanks for providing this! Very useful! I've linked to this post from all of Moome's product FAQs.

no, it's a multi-turn pot. There's no "end".

So how are you supose to know when its at its minimum setting? just go about 25 turns like the guide suggest?

I tweaked the contrast control on my card and now what ?
Assuming you own a scope how would someone go and reset the contrast control back to .07mv ? Do you need and extender for the card ?
How can you scope a HDMI card , in old days could scope the RGB with the green pin but how does that happen in this digital world?

It's the same thing.

Connect a lead wire to the green pin of your card and run it out the back when you plug the card into the projector. Then feed the card an HDMI signal with a 100 IRE white window on a black background.

Connect the scope to the wire lead from the card. Adjust the contrast so that the white window is 0.7 volts above the black background as seen on your oscope.
