I'm getting a Directv HR20 Hidef DVR on the first of september. It has component and HDMI hidef outputs. I have (of course) 5-bnc RGBHV inputs on the Marquee. What is the best choice, getting a transcoder to convert the component to RGB, or a HDFury to convert the HDMI to RGB. Any thoughts? Has anyone tried the HDFury with the HR20? I imagine I would have to get the version with power supply, at a cost of $200, since I have a 25' RGB cable running from the source to the projector. The transcoder would be less expensive...

The power supply is needed for long *HDMI* cables. The HDFury can't drive 25' of RGBHV cables. You'd have to get something that can, like a Kimcoder or something similar.
Or get a Moome box, which has been getting rave reviews. It has newer tech (new Silicon Optix chip) than the Fury and is supposed to be better. It's more expensive, but for $340 you can get an external Moome box that will drive your cables, transcode a component input, switch 2 HDMI & 1 component input, and has gamma modification...

If you buy an ampro - it will make the Q look its very best..
Hence it is the best choice (and cheapest).

Excellent points!!! I think a KimCoder with gamma control would be an excellent choice since you already have the RGBHV cables run. No HDMI cable expense!! No HDCP handshake issues.
Me? Biased? LOL
