Cool - we do want the board to be tested before shipping; I didn't know he does this as a side job, seems a little too much for a side job.

It would be very nice to have it by the end of this week for the long holiday weekend of watching HD movies. |

Correct. Not only does Moome do this as a part time job, he travels a lot with his regular job.
The VIM-HD units come 90% assembled but he has to do more work and soldering the final parts on and to do complete testing. From the FAQ:
July 19, 2007: VIM-HD cards ready for assembly/testing before being sent out to customers:
Notice that the face-plates haven't been bolted on yet and the LEDs and a few other parts have to be soldered on. Then the whole thing has to go through a slew of testing at various resolutions with different sources to make sure everything works ok.
He also has a hundred or so EXT-HD boxes and IFB-HD cards that also came in at exactly the same time (end of October) that ALSO need to be assembled and tested and sent out. He's also working on finalizing the MUX-HD box, and the XG-HD card. Then there's the 300 emails he gets a day from people complaining that he's not working fast enough that he has to read and slows him down.

Which is why we send all our whining emails to Kal instead.
(Glad to hear the EXT-HD boxes HAVE come in -- you posted notices that the VIM and IFB boards were in, but not a peep about the EXT boxes!)

moome/kal - I ordered a pair of these, but one of them has been a bit 'iffy' since the beginning. It would lose sync randomly, but I put it down to a loose hdmi connection when the subs or d-box went crazy.. but now even without the subs or d-box, it will lose sync. I need to wiggle the connector or take it out entirely and reconnect it to get the picture back. I've been putting up with it but not it is occuring more frequently. It is not my hdmi cable as I've tried swapping it with the other projector and problem still remains on the same moome card.
Where do I go from here? Warranty? Repair? Replacement? My main concern is system down time.

Gino,
You'll have to contact Moome directly for any warranty/repair/support issues. I'm just his webmaster.

Yep, mine just arrived a couple of minutes ago. Can't make use of it though until I get the LVPS Filament fix done on my 9500, oh the irony, held up by a 2 cent resistor!
Many thanks to Moome for his excellet work though

Another update: Moome emailed me to let me know that ALL of the VIM-HD's have now shipped. There are approx 15 left, so orders placed today will ship out almost immediately.

Just a question. I ordered mine on Nov 5th. I have not received any confirmation email other than from paypal. I've noticed that they all shipped. I have yet to see mine. Any idea on how long shipping takes to San Francisco. I just want to make sure that my order wasn't missed as I need this card to work with the new Directv HD box.
Thanks,
Gabe

I can confirm that Moome got your order. It'll most likely arrive any day now. You can email Moome at Moome@curtpalme.com to confirm.
(EDIT: Sorry for any confusion, I originally wrote something thinking you had ordered the EXT-HD external box...)

Thanks Kal, I appreciate the confirmation and will await the arrival. You provide a good service for Moome and for everyone on here.

Moome tells me that there are approximately 10 VIM-HD boards left. I don't when (if ever) the VIM-HD boards will be made again.

Kal,
Was/is there a buyback option for earlier version cards? I recall someone asking this question some time ago but I didn't see the answer.

No, there hasn't been. I'd suggest you simply try and sell it. Much easier. Moome has enough work just creating/shipping/maintaining/supporting his current and new line of products.
