Finally got a mini board attached to one of my latest 02 VIMs.
Colors in the shots are totally off, so I will for the longest do a color calibration by the weekend, because I'm really liking what I see on the screen.
Here's a nugget for you: In order to experience 2D, three things must happen:
1, you would have to be able to 100% resolve the native resolution of the source.
2, you would have to make sure your low level (black level's) references are as perfect as possible
3, you would need a super low noise video chain and good source into the projector.
And of course the focus and such must be done to its best, and when all things are in order, you would then be able to see all the finer detail of objects in the background (clarity/depth). And that is when you'll be able to see why I have zero interest in 3D..

Decreased the colors in my Blu Ray player, because everything is more in your face.

I have since attached a mini board mod to my modified 03 VIM. And installed it for the first time in my 9500, and right after went to get my camera to capture what I'm seeing on the screen. Projector still not calibrated and the convergence needs a lot of attention, but sharpness is not what I'm looking at...
