Avoid both of those. The first has no power supply and the second only accepts an interlaced signal and likely scales to 800x600. how do I know? I own one.

Go for the Extron 304

Ok thanks a lot, instead what would you recommend as a line multiplier? Or does the Extron 304 also act as a multiplier?

You don't need a scaler/line multiplier if your source can be set to whatever resolution you want to use. For an ECP 4xxx 1080i or 720p are recommended.

The Extron 304 will take the component cable input via BNC connectors ( or you can use RCA to BNC adaptors ).

Then you can run your firestick into the extron at 1080P and the extron will scale to whatever you need. 1080i is what I would recommend. You could also try 1280x720 (AKA 720P) or even a lower resolution if you like.
Just don't crank up the resolution too high, you may damage your projector. So make 1080i the max, avoid using 1080p or 1920x1200

Thanks a lot guys, in addition to understanding everything you said you also managed to convey a passion for these components, it's not for everyone!
In the next few days I will order the Extron and if I need to I will rewrite you, for now, thanks to you everything is much clearer !!
Congratulations for the very active forum and for the site, really well done! Bye thank you!!

You're welcome! Though saying our forum is "very active" is a bit of a stretch. Wink

Ya massimo, you should have seen it before digital projectors killed off CRTs! Probably 5-10x more active.

You're welcome. BTW I have owned about 20 Extron 204 and 304's. They are GREAT little scalers. I've only had one fail it was a 204. The difference between the 204 and 304 is the 204 will only do SD - standard definition input, where as the 304 will scale HD signals.

Feel free to ask away. AND this forum is quiet but at least it looks like I know what I'm talking about. 16 years on here I learned a thing or 3 o 4. Wink
