People are raving about the 3D comb filter in this unit.

very hard to find one nowadays,

any open box ones still around for a fair price?

Nope. They're very difficult to find I'm afraid. We haven't had any open box units available for many years now. They were discontinued in 2018 so any you find will be used, not open box. Same with the 2124 (the version without 4K output). Sorry!

We do have open box versions of other Radiance units (and Radiance Pro units). Email me at kal@CurtPalme.com for details.

it's a analogue inputs plus the increased bandwidth setings due to the 4K output for porch settings for the Moome card and Marquee combination that would be interesting to try out. this model seems to have one of the best 3D comb filter built into the analogue section.

well, maybe one comes along in the coming years.

I purchased one off ebay for use with my CLD-97. VERY Expensive and hard to get... I saw another one go by just recently, though... sold for close to $3K.

Just a thought, initially I used a DVDO ISCAN DUO, which has the same de-interlacing chip as the 2144, and routed it into one of the earlier Lumagen processors via HDMI, and then out of that processor either with HDMI or an analog signal. That worked fine as well, but I just didn't think I had enough control over everything... the DVDO de-interlace controls feel limited, and I wasn't entirely sure what was being sent to the DVDO was good stuff. That being said... WAY less cost, and about 92.59% of the way to the 2144... In hind-sight... probably almost equivalent...

I'm thinking a DVDO DUO can be had for a song and a dance now... and a pre Radiance Pro Lumagen... probably for sub-$500 easy... The DVDO DUO as audio synchronization functions, so the processing path isn't going to mess up sync.

Also went another route, there is a Kramer unit VP-773 (773A, 773AMP) that has the same chipset inside with more comb filter controls. got it for $300. not too impressed by the 3D Y/C comb filter.

if 3D Y/C is still interesting enough, there's a FGPA unit that far surpasses everything I have seen, still not finished
but it's being programed by an ex-employee from Snell & Wilcox.
looks fantastic with my HLD-X0 on the Marquee.
