I sure they drew heavily on that show for ideas. Last of Us Part II came out in 2020 while first one was released in 2013, about 3 years after Walking Dead was released.
The premise behind Last of Us is interesting - Humankind's been hit by an outbreak of a mutant Cordyceps fungus which transforms human hosts into aggressive creatures known as the "Infected". So no zombies or dead, just infected. This stuff actually exists in real life and affects bugs, especially ants. When the fungus infects an ant, it grows through the insect’s body, draining it of nutrients and hijacking its mind. It makes the ant to leave the nest, go up a plant stem to a spot with the right temperature and humidity for the fungus to grow. It then forces the ant to permanently lock its mandibles around a leaf and eventually sends a long stalk through the ant’s head, growing into a capsule full of spores which rain down onto other ants below zombifying them in turn. Pretty cool.
Of course the game takes it a step further with humans as there are different levels of 'infected'.

Cordyceps is SO bizarre. Who would imagine a fungus could take over an insect's mind. How does a freaking fungus have the intelligence to drive the ant up a stem, stop at just the right level, lock its mandibles, etc!?

I'd guess the fungus knows the optimal everything and seeks it out. Remarkable.
Currently watching Vikingsk; seasons 1-3

New OTA ATSC channel. TruReal. I like it when they play many episodes of Ghosthunters back to back

On my third season of Vikings. Wow this a great show.
Anyone have Seasons 4-7 for sale?

I've been looking for Season 4 and, to my annoyance, it's sold in two parts. That's just asinine on the part of the producers. Milking us for more money.

Well, yes and no.
Seasons 1, 2, and 3 all had 10 episodes. For seasons 4, 5, and 6 they doubled that to 20 episodes and sold them separately parts 1 and 2. So no difference really in what you're paying for in terms of amount of content.
Instead of two parts for the last 3 seasons they could have simply sold the 6 seasons as 1 to 9 and you wouldn't question it.

I see. Still I hate it when studios decide to split seasons. It feels like a money grab.
I still remember that from the Blockbuster video days. So it goes Waaaayyyyy back
I've finished the first 3 seasons. I NEED seasons 4-7 and an introduction to the kings ex-wife
Her hair is amazing AND she's from Toronto!

I get that, but they made twice as many episodes for seasons 4-6. So all things being equal, it costs them twice as much to make. So by splitting they're not charging you more per episode as the number of episodes you're paying for is the same.
There's no season 7. 6 was the last.

So to get the cheaper internet I had to sign up for a Rogers TV bundle with a streaming box. The included Disney+ for a year. Before it will activate you have to put in a paymet option. They billed me for the month then emailed me saying the subscription payment was suspended. Weird.
So now watching "The Mandalorian" I've hear this is a good show.

Yeah, I liked it. Lots of great stuff if you like Marvel, too — great new content like Loki, WandaVision, etc.

Yeah. If you're a Star Wars fan "The Mandalorian" is a fun watch. Others mind find it a bit slow but I enjoyed it. Good production value.
Frankly, between our stream services (Netflix / Disney+ / Prime) we have more to watch than we can. I rarely buy physical discs anymore. Yes, the discs look/sound better but I've gotten complacent.

I still love the thrill of the hunt when it comes to buying TV shows. I snagged Vikings 1-3 while surfing thrift.
I've previously done that with Battlestar Galactica, Homeland, and a few others that escape my covid riddled brain just now.
Sometimes I'll hit 15 stores to see if I can score the entire series in a day. Someitmes it takes months to get them all. It's all in good fun.
Other times I just suck it up and buy on eBay or Amazon. Sometimes the price is right and sometimes completely out in left field.
Time Tunnel comes to mind. Season 1 was $12.00 and they were asking $48.00 for season2. I still need season 2.

As I said above just got one of the useless streaming boxes from rogers. I have Disny+ and because Ineeded car parts in a hurry back in August, Amazon Prime.
I also have Over the Air TV - 41 channels and nothing on.
