Hi forum, tom here, haven't been on the forum in a while. Well it looks like I'm back in the crt world again, a guy near my was giving away a Sony 1272 and a Nec 110lc, we carried them out of his basement, he was hoping to find them a good home, I'll try not to disappoint him, I did a check on them and everything seams to be in good working order, I'm familiar with the Sony but the Nec makes my Brain itch, from what I've read on curts site they can get very involved, hope I can pick some brains on the forum if I need help, haven't checked the hours yet but the tubes seam to be good shape, I think I'll set up the Sony first after a good dusting and cleaning, got to get the cobwebs out, hope everybody on the forum are doing well, hope to be burning some phosphor soon. Tom.

Take the time to learn the NEC. It will be worth the effort.

Yeah I would really like to get the Nec up and running, ran a blue ray through an hdfury last night and it synced right up. I really hate myself for not getting on the forum years ago, I've been into crt since 1991, always checked out the forum just never joined, I feel like I missed out on the best years. I just ordered a 20' hdmi wire on eBay, took a chance for $15 I've had good luck with them before. I'm going to keep my digital in the loop, I missed playing with the crtpj, hopefully I can get the Sony up IN a couple of weeks and then il get into the Nec, I'll be putting them on the floor, I'll send some pics eventually if I can figure out how to do it. Thanks for getting back to me so soon. Tom

That NEC will be nice and sharp if it's in good shape.

I do have a writeup on how to set up an NEC XG series on the main site. Use that and the manual, and all should work out well.

Cheers!

Snooze you loose I guess, hey curt, I have some Barco quads and splitters laying around unknown shape your welcome to them if you want, I have one more complete Barco 800g with 3 cooked tubes, I can't bring myself to take it apart but I guess I'll have to, many great home theater memories in it. I guess I'll have to study up on the Nec, I hope it's in good working order, i know it's very good machine. Thanks again forum, I'll keep posting on my progress. Tom.

Hi forum, I've been setting up the Nec and Sony pjs, I think I've figured out the Nec remote, it took a while, the Nec clocks in at about 600 hrs, the Sony at 4000 that makes the Nec almost new, I got the picture position done, now I just have to figure out the convergence procedure the help menus are actually helpful I've never had a pj that had as much control over the picture. Hope to get the Nec up and running by the weekend, have to move some furniture around to make room this one will going on the floor, can't do the ceiling thing anymore, I'll have to make a coffee table type cover for it, hope all is well. Tom.

Follow the definitive CRT setup guide on the main site. I wrote that specifically for the NEC XG series. Make sure a signal is live into the projector, otherwise you'll lose the memory setting that you're using without the input signal, and you'll need to start over.

Cheers!
