i have absolutely no idea what such a thing is worth, i am in the netherlands too. setting up an ampro for use in the living room, i might need a scaler to effortlessly connect my gear to it.

Get that Luuk. Then on Ebay they have a inexpensive HDMI splitter that will strip HDCP so you can send 1080p to the ampro.

There is a thread on it here somewhere.

I'll find the link for the HDMI splitter it is like 20 USD.

If you can get that for a good price your on your way to some fun !

Hi,

If You don't find an agreement with robbo, I have a DVDO iScan VP50 Pro and a DVDO iScan VP30 that I won't be needing soon. Both should fit Your needs.
The splitter that Nash mentioned is different to the one You wrote about. It's a very simple device (one HDMI input and two HDMI output) which 'accidentially' omits HDCP when put into the HDMI signal path.
It is necessary as otherwise the Crystalio (and the DVDOs) will only output a black picture when connecting a Blu Ray player at the HDMI input and the CRT projector at the output (output device not seen as HDCP compliant)...

i get it, but i also need some device to strip the digital audio to route it to my HT receiver set Smile
the plan is to connect my ps3 and my mediaplayer by hdmi cable to a switch/hdcpstripper and then connect that to a scaler which will hook up to the projetcor by rgbhv. then ill need to strip the digital audio from the HDMI and route that to my optical or coaxial input on my HT receiver.

so either i'll need a scaler like this and put a hdmi stripper on the main inputs, or i need some other solution.
i absolutely need to have digital audio separation from the HDMI input.

Hi,

This is something that most scalers will do too. As the scaling and other picture processing will take some miliseconds, most of the better scalers have an adjustable audio delay incorporated. So audio processing and extraction is one of the side results. The Crystalio and the DVDOs have it...

Nope. The $25 splitter has no audio ouputs, so no audio extraction. The only benefits are HDCP stripping and a bit of signal amplification...

Yes. But that's related to the audio stream that it will distribute inside the HDMI signal. There's no extraction to any additional output for the audio signal. And an additional audio output is exactly what Luuk is looking for...

Not more, no less...

HDMI connectors only, no audio connectors for any extracted signal...

Oh l
Luuk does not have an HDMI receiver? I missed that.

Then he needs a Moome MUX with Optical out.

that is also not desirable.
i could use this scaler, i would connect both my sources to the splitter which strips hdcp, then route the output of that splitter into one of the hdmi inputs in the scaler. then output via the RGBHV on the scaler to the PJ. while taking the digital audio out of the scaler and connecting that to my HT receiver.

also this scaler says "hdcp" at the hdmi inputs, which leads me to believe that this puppy has HDCP capability, so if you route a HDCP enabled device into the input ports, the encryption should stay and it should output image via RGBHV out no problem, as the scaler is the last video device in the chain.

Hi,

This won't work. It's a splitter, so it has one input and two outputs. It doesn't work the other way around.
If You have two sources which carry a HDCP encrypted signal You will need two splitters. Their second output is always left unconnected when they are used for HDCP stripping. I have three and could add two of them to the DVDO. I would test this setup with two Blu Ray players before shipment...
