When 4K formats are becoming so common, I consider upgrading my streamer to a 4K streamer.
I know that my Barco 1209 won’t support 4K. But hopping that the streamer will downscale to FHD.
From what I have heard. when playing a 4K movie that will output FHD Rez I will have some color issues and not so good picture quality.
Be happy to know your opinion.

Hi,

the best way is to use the Oppo 203 because of the following advantages (my personal experience)

1) best tone mapping in you have 4K discs
2) Oppo has a HDMI IN on which you can connect your streaming box or any other HDMI device

I concur that this is a very decent solution especially because of the tone mapping. The only other good solution is to use a Lumagen Radiance Pro which is better, but at a much higher price point.

I just had a client return an Oppo UDP-203 that is brand new and in an unopened box. I am planning to list it on eBay, but if you are interested in a direct sale I would sell it cheaper by avoiding eBay selling fees. I'd go 10% below fair market value based on eBay sales prices.

Best,
craigr
