Hey guys,

I was wondering if someone can PM me these secret codes to reset the EEPROM of the XG-1350G Models.

I'm not sure if it's a code or some sort of dip switch you set on one of the boards before you power it up?

I know many are reluctant to reveal it but the only reason I want to know is out of curiosity and the fact that these units aren't used much now, but I still use mine and want to know as much as possible about it for the future.

I don't plan on clearing my eeprom. I've spent an absolute ton of time repairing, setting up and tweaking it and I have an incredible picture and it should last me a long time, I even have a new set of tubes on stand by. Smile

Anyway if anyone feels like telling me that would be really appreciated.

Thanks. Smile

Ah what the heck, you're right ,

The super secret password is 3320. that will unlock previously hidden menus, and will allow you to do a bunch of stuff that you don't need to do, including initializing the EEPROM.

There is an other one as well: 315151 this does not seem to work on all versions though.

I think that's for the LC one. I think 3320 covers all sets, but I could be wrong.

I initialized my EEPROM and now it won't boot up. Sad

Kidding. Good to know. Thanks!

I don't know what else to do with this projector (apart from use it)

It could be better when it comes to corner focus and when I watch movies, dark scenes are usually too dark. But I think it's as good as it can be.

Is there any info available on the engineer mode functions and what they do?

Out of all the XGs I've worked on, probably in the low 100s at this point, I've only had ONE that needed an EEPROM reset. It has some weird glitch in the point convergence, lower left corner, on the red, that simply wouldn't align. Was about to sell the set, retubed, and found that out as I was doing a final test.Changed all sorts of boards, and while it wasn't the first time I'd reset the EEPROM, the 2-3 other times I did it, it didn't cure the fault. With this set, after the reset, all zone convergence worked perfectly. Must have been a glitch at one of the memory points.

Does the PC software allow you to fully reload an EEPROM backup onto the chip or would you need a hardware programmer to do that? (Backup to bin / reset and flash bin back if desired)
