Are there any future meets being planned?

I've been MIA on here for months.

Saw Blendzilla had its last meet Crying or Very sad

My intent is to host one when I get my new place in the suburbs of Washington DC.

I'm right over the new WW bridge from you in Maryland, and I have plans to do a small one around when Craig comes to the area in a few months. That could also be a good time to have him calibrate your setup.

I'll be in town for Thanksgiving as usual, but I won't be able to bring any tools with two kids in tow. Would be fun to drop in for a meet, but I bet TG is not the best time for that Wink

I should have a meet. It's been a lot of years. Maybe when I get a really good laser based digital we can compare it against the G90. I was thinking of getting a VPL-VW5000ES, but the HDMI connectivity issues are making me second guess that thought... than again, I could probably get Sound & Vision to lend me one...

Frankly I think the biggest problem is the massive amounts of infighting the various CRT forums have had over the last 5 years. The camaraderie the group had for the most part, even if we disagreed on things is gone. A bunch of it died (no pun intended) when Cliff passed as well.

The few of us here that are left are pretty scattered, so I'm not sure that anyone having a meet is going to have more than 5-10 people attending.

Curt, I don't think that is the problem. I think a lot of people have either moved on from CRTs or the hobby in general. William advertised his meet for months and still had a small turnout. I tried to make it, but my Merc was out of commission.

A central location like Chicago would help, but I wonder how many people would attend. I told Phil last week that I haven't seen you in 3 years after seeing you a couple of times in a short time. Wink If Craig had one next spring, then I would definitely try to get up there.

If there is real interest than I am totally game.

Sounds good, Craig. We should probably revisit this around February. I am sure Rocco would come.

You're not that far from me. If you hosted a CRT meet I would at least talk to the missus about coming up to see your setup and of course meet Mr. Craig Rounds. Smile

When is that? July! Laughing

I would guess April or May would be a good time. IIRC Cliff's meet was the first weekend in May.

Dear Craig;

I'll chime in too. My oldest son and his family live about an hour West of Chicago. Any excuse to drive to Chicago is a good one for me, as I also get to visit my son, his wife, and my first grandchild.

I'm in.

William
