Without the neckboard it does have 6 pole magnetics.

At 350 Euro, inc shipping, I had to open up my wallet one last time. And I've been wondering all day how this brand new tube will matter after changing it. The one I have has worked fine but has unknown hours on it. Several thousands hours is a good estimate. If I had a flashlight too look thru the lenses I would see better, perhaps.

I've never seen a defective Clinton made tube. They're good!
Actually the only tubes I've ever seen any problems with were Lexels, and ONLY the blue ones.
I've seen more than one blue Lexel tube where when you run it, you see white spots in the phosphor.
It's really not likely to be a problem you'd see much while watching a movie but it is kind of odd.
I suspect they had a batch of phosphor which had some contamination issues.
But it only happen in their blue tubes, and not very often.

Looks like I made the right choice to commit to buy it then. I have a rebuilt blue tube that turned to roast in like 10 months so I had to put this back in.

Sure, I dug it up now and will shoot pictures. I can say it's a rebuilt tube, and with a special name that I forgot, it might be on there, but the seller might know more (Tim in Phoenix). I didn't bitch about it, so put the old one back in, and now the image has no brown tint to it so better of. In fact I think he owes me a favor with another tube, at a good deal of course.

From the looks of it, the tube didn't go through the phosphor hardening process that every rebuilt tube has to go through. Way back when, VDC never told me that, and I had the same amount of wear (worse, actually) happen to the first 9500 I sold.
Charlie from VDC filled me in on the 100 hour wear in process, and covered the tube under warranty. I can post the procedure if you don't know it.

I'd like to see it, please.
The three rebuilt tubes that were in a Marquee I bought recently
have under 700 hours on them and in the raster area they look "different"
than in the rest of the tube face. There's no trace of browning
but at certain angles you can see this used active raster area
but it can't be seen from directly in front.

New tubes are very available but we cheapskates don't want to pay the price!
Most lower cost tubes come from simulator installations which wear out
blue and green tubes like mad but red tubes often look like new
when they're changed out on time. Good blues and greens from simulator
operators are relatively uncommon.

Thanks Curt. I was out of town, and got home today, and learned you have the wear in process, and of course, unless not necessary with this tube in mind, you can post whatever you want, its your site so if you wish, go right ahead.
