OK, strange movie even if the intended audience was for the younger crown. I am not entirely sure which crown this movie was intended for and it left me with the same feeling at Under the Skin. I am not sure what to make of movies that leave me in this way as it seems to be unanswered, not concluded and just a snapshot in the day of the life of X, Y and Z.
While I enjoyed the strong colors and cinematography (for what it was worth), I am not sure it is worth buying. I streamed this of of Amazon Prime last night while waiting for the wife to come home. The story is strange and at a point it changed and I wasn't sure if the movie was still in the here and now or in a dream--took several more minutes to realize which it was.
Being a recent streamer (had to in order to continue watching Californication without having to be interrupted by bad BD problems), I find myself watching things I would not. I come from a lifestyle in which I can wait patiently and buy, on BD, and watch what I feel are 'sure things'. I mean, thing I am sure I will like enough to justify what I paid for the BD.
I am a bit glad I didn't buy The Neon Demon BD at it's current or former price as I am sure I would have been bewildered if it was a buy or not. Dakota Fanning did her bit and she is just as lovely as one might expect. The visuals and dead-palm characters at times are interesting but only to a point to look at and not to relate to.
For a movie that went almost two hours I was surprised it went by much quicker than I would have expected. Does that mean I liked it (a la life goes by fast when you are having fun)? I wasn't distracted by anything else so I wonder if I enjoyed it enough to not notice the progression of time. If you have Amazon Prime give it a try.

never heard of it, tomatoes gives it a 53% and netflix shows even lower, 2 out of 5 stars. i might give it a try but generally can't stand anything to do with fashion or modeling

Just install a screen in the sh*ting room with some 5.1 TP and you're all set.

I've been telling one of my friends with a girly bladder to do something similar with the Xbox setup.
