Bypass straight to the projector and see what it does.

Some don'5 do handshakes well with certain gear(been there before with a digital projector)

Cm has a point on the switchers they are cheap(I use one on my tv in my bedroom)

Sony card has two inputs. So you're saying run the hdmi cable from say the dvd player to the moome card instead of going thru the receiver? If so, how would I get audio then?
I don't understand this stuff like you guys do. Thanks

I don't have any direct experience with the Sony version Moome card, but the Marquee version has two HDMI inputs,
and if the Sony version does as well, consider running two sources to the projector (if you need two) and switch via the Moome remote.

There is also always the possibility of using a multi-port HDMI switch. They're not expensive.

Just try and see if the pic doesn't act up.

That's what we was wanting to find out.

It's possible that the av recivier isn't playing nice with the rest of your gear.

Hang on, Larry... Before you start messing with cables... Do you ever have trouble with the picture when you're watching content, or does it *only* happen when you try to access the setup screen on the Denon?

Only when I try to adjust a setting. Everything works fine if hooked up to my PC Monitor thou.
Tonight I plugged the dvd player into the moome card so both inputs were used, No difference, Tried to adjust speaker volumes and lost the picture

If the problem is consistently repeatable like that then it's not a cable length issue.

Hmmm

I don't get why short cables cause any sort of problem. I am running several two-footers in and out of a Moome MUX with no issues at all.

It's a known issue Tim. To quote Jim Peterson who designed the Radiance line of video processors:

"We have certainly had few cases where I asked people go to 10 or even 15 feet for HDMI cables and that has resolved the issues. I can only attribute this to the HDMI cable equalization. The EQ is a static EQ and so the HDMI chip design must set up for a “nominal” cable length. Given the range of lengths that seem to work the best, I estimate the nominal length for the EQ is in the range of 15 to 20 feet for the center point."

Just because you have cases where a short 2 foot cable will work, doesn't mean that it'll always work in all cases in all setups.

Well, I give up fixing this problem. I've tried everything. Just bought the Denon AVR so I'm not buying another brand etc Not buying another moome card either, I asked Moomie about my problem losing card detection etc, but of course he never replied.
Guess when I need to make a settings adjustment I'll have to hook up my monitor first, then make the adjustments
Thanks everyone for your help & ideas.

What brand did you use ?( i tried the hdmi doctor, it did not work )

I am using the Viewhd brand , worked perfectly . one output goes to the receiver and another to PJ.
No need to turn on either the pj or receiver on first before the source

they sell on ebay,

Try the viewhd product.

I bought a couple of hdcp strippers for hdmi handshake issues with moome cards and av receiver.

So far the hdview is the one that solved it.

BTW how did you use the splitter? Just put into the chain inbetween the player and the receiver? If yes, you better try it as a real splitter, ie. splitter output 1 straight to the projector; splitter output 2 to the AVR (so you get sound), and don't have any other cable between the projector and the AVR directly.

If the viewhd does not work on power up.

Try rebooting the player with the receiver and PJ still on.
