What can take out a smps during standby since it's not powered up yet. A shorted tube? Some other board shorted?

Usually a fault in the smps itself.

I put the smps in a working set it works. Once i put into the non working set the smps shorts out n is dead. Put into working set n dead as well

ok, there is one SMPS and another one called SMP2 + G2, should both be swapped out at the same time? Can a failed SMP2 + g2 take out main SMPS?
