Quote: | GT17 start at a screen size of 2m in width. |
I'm about to figure this out. My screen is 3,15m wide and also with 2 blended pjs side by side.
It is a bit at the edge of the lens range, but as far as i've tested it is possible.
If not, you could use spacers between the black C-element ring and the lens.
I'd recommend you to try the GT-17, I think they're good lenses.
Regards, Julian

Yes I used them for a long time but than got these 919's with hfq900 and my GT17 are in storage now. It is really the uniform sharpness on 100 inch for me. With Cinemax I also had hfq and it was someghing I redisvovered with my Marquee.

Seems that some people with 90 inch screens prefer the GT17. But in my perception the black got blacker espescially in characters on the desktop. I think that is the coating on these HFQ900. This thread is not a sales add so I can say honestly that I guess that the first HFQ900 have a very special coating. I also have the latter HFQ900 but those have a real coating problem so difficult to compare. But lenses and coating are known since 1800 and perfected for long. In time mostly the costs are lowered not always leading to the same quality products. But it is just a guess. I was very amazed and glad with these HFQ's. Perhaps when I sell that 909 someone can confirm this.

How can it be that a 909 has less fan noise vs a Cine9 ?
Other fan model ?

Yes that is a question I have tried to figure out.
First and most important is that your focus board should be set to fan with a jumper. If it is on 12V the tray will be very noisy. aLso software has been told to make a difference.
Third thing is that there are two types of smps power supplies. It seems that the newer type needs a separate fanboard in the back of the Cine 9. The older smps has a little more electronics on the smps itself. Both regulate the speed of all fans as far as I could figure out. The regulation is done on the subboard. But the old smps does not work with the separate fanboard.
Now what I know is that a 919 with older smps and 3.12 version software was the quietest. Also 2.21 software was very quiet.
My Cinemax with 2.13 software with a newer smps and without the fanboard in the back was a little more noisy really very little.
So I think that the missing fanboard in the back is the problem with my cinemax or the 2.13 software. However a 909 is only noisy when you set the jumper on the focusboard to 12V. It has been told that certain versions of the software are also very noisy and probable set the fans to full speed to. It might be that some Seos models wanted this to save the electronics.
If someone can correct me please do. Hulio send me the schematics of the older and newer smps.

My Cine9 = 'very' quiet. It has the fan board in the back.
My BR909 = quiet but if you go with higher rez and refresh rate fans are getting loud

As for the blend.
A single projector with 1064 x 800 @72Hz will give about 92 MHz in video bandwidth which can be easily handled by a 9 inch machine.

Yes but it would be nice if we could get the bandwidth as much up as possible. It will not soon be as high as the mp modified marquee but barco has other good points to compensate for that.
You know I was thinking we are entering a new era where people do not have one or two crt's but perhaps 4
At this moment I have 6 working CRT's lol A bit to much.

Yes. I have a modified external that is now internal but it is a little lower in bandwidth, less sharp.
The new arrived today. I hope I can test if there is a difference between two new moome's.
Also a green c-element on its way!

Normaly, a week or so. I had mine after three weeks because the idiots here smelt money. Belgian customs want import fees + TVA. Moome send me an invoice, i send it to the customs and finaly, they let it go. I suspect that german authorities are smarter than belgian ones.
Normaly, moome declare the pack as sample with a low value (20$), so should not be a problem.
