|
|
HI ,
Hope somebody from lumagen can help me here.
I have connected my PS3 to my Lumagen 2020 and the hdmi output2 to moome's barco hdmi input card.
The video is blank ,but I can sometimes see the lumagen osd menu blinking off and on and it looks like it is cycling or panning from top to bottom.
also it seems the moome card is having some sync issues.

See the Moome manual for complete details (available on our order page).
Identical post in the Lumagen section deleted - no need to post twice.

Hooking the lumagen to my samsung tv everything works out fine.
But when i use the second hdmi output to connect to the moome, both tv and barco goes blank.
I think it is really the moome not connecting with the lumagen.

What Barco projector do you have?
What resolution do you have the PS3 set to?
What length / type HDMI cable are you using between the Lumagen and the Barco HDMI card?
What happens if you bypass the Lumagen and go directly from the PS3 to the Barco HDMI card?
What happens when you disconnect the Samsung TV and instead hook up that HDMI cable to the Barco HDMI card (ie: not use the second HDMI output on the Lumagen).

What output resolution and refresh rate do you have the Lumagen set to? If it's on auto than the Lumagen will send 1080p 24Hz most likely.
Also, I think with Barco you may need to change the sync polarity in the Lumagen, but I am not certain about that one.

Thanks for the reply, Craigr.
With the samsung tv connected, i was able to confirm the lumagen 's output was 1080p60hz.
I will look for the sync polarity tab w/ lumagen ,the 2020 being an all hdmi unit , it may not be an issue.

Hi Kal,
The Pj is a cinemax,
Ps3 is outputting 1080p 60hz all the time, when switching between samsung tv and barco.
24hz is off in both lumagen and ps3.
Cable between Barco is 10 meters, but cable claims to be a 1.4version. Samsung has standard old hdmi cable of 1.5 meters.
No issues with ps3 direct to barco on moome hdmi card.
Using either output of the 2020 , did not send a video signal.
Playing with the lumagen's resolution using the its' remote keys. the menu osd will flash and cycles and go blank.

Hi Moome,
Yes i have changed to a shorter cable, still did not work.
But connecting an "hdmi doctor" between the ps3 and lumagen fixed it.
Also it did not have issues with an old sony dvp cx995 dvd changer with its hdmi output.
seems like an hdcp sync /handshake issue with the ps3 and lumagen , you think?
By the way, i am that guy who went to meet you in Taipei about year 2008.

hi, are you the guy that use IFB at that time? great to meet you here.
I think BARCO-HDMI can not have a good link for HDCP, any issue if feed non HDCP signal to 2020 then to BARCO-HDMI?
and did you try other input port on BARCO HDMI?
thanks

yes i am that guy.
When i connect a non hdcp hdmi( Sony dvd changer cx995 ) to the lumagen there is no issue.
Changing ports on the card did not help or improve the connection.

yes, if it is HDCP issue, should be solved.
but if PS3 directly connect to BARCO-HDMI is working.
then HDCP function is ok on BARCO-HDMI card,
so there are HDCP handle issue between 2020 and BARCO-HDMI.
is 2020 similar base with 3D mini? I have one and can check this with my PS3.

According to this site's lumagen page , it is an improvement of the mini 3d.

I also have the lumagen's main HDMI( w/ audio ) connected to an av receiver.
The lumagen's hdmi handshake and the receiver is sometimes affecting the second hdmi ( Lumagen to mome card).
I did the hdmi settings on the lumagen to have the non audio hdmi to link first then the main(w/ audio ) link last.

do you mean sometimes receiver will let 202 disable second HDMI port? then there is no signal to BARCO-HDMI?

yes, the receiver sometimes will lose the audio/handshake and blank out the video.
(So i use the dvd's digital coax to the receiver, no problem here.)
But the problem is the pj shuts down after repeated blanking. I posted my problem in another forum( repair all ).
Its like the clicking (handshake ) of the hdmi( i think ,am not sure of this ) is causing my barco to go into shutdown, its only less than 2000 running hours. I have swapped a lot of boards ( smps, rgb boards, h and v boards, controller boards ) and the pj always go into shutdown after 20 minutes or so.
The new controller seems to take it better.
after the shutdown, it comes right back.
This is just with the non hdcp dvd player.
With PS3 it is very hard to get the hdmi handshake with the lumagen in the chain.
I will try to hook all things up with the receiver first than last with the lumagen.
Been too caught up with swapping / isolating boards and have not gone to this part.
I will report later about this.
Thanks for the attention, always good to try your products.
