|
|
Hello Guys,
I have bought a Barco Cinemax (arrived today) with fresh new tubes and less than 3000 hours on the counter.
Unfortunately, it seems there is something really wrong with the unit, or this just me getting older.
There is a faint green line on the green tube (which is an Eisemann LUG Simulation grade). The green makes also a subtle cycling (very fast cycling) noise. It sounds like little electrical discharges.
Enough ?
No...
I'm not able to make it sync to anything in the house too. I can run through the menus but it is unable to display any external source. I have tried with my pc to port 4/5 and from a PS3 to HdFury with no results at all.
Am I forgetting something ?

There is a pot to move that green line i believe.
Is there a LIMO-PRO fitted? Are all the little cables connected between it, the switcher, and the RGB boards?
The silicone on the anode lead, how long did you let it cure?

If you have a LIMO in there, plug something into composite and press 1 on the remote.

Line problem solved.
Still no video output. This is weird because the pj syncs correctly to the source (67.7Khz - 60hz RGB1) but produces no image.
The new tubes were already fitted when I bought it, so I have no idea how much the previous owner let the anode silicon cure.
For the same reason, (but also because this is my first cine 9 chassis) I still don't figure out "if" and "how many cables" are missing. Futhermore, this chassis has small empty slots (for future upgrades) everywhere.
Need to find some old video cable and test the other ports, anyway I'm quite sure the Limo is not installed. It has Iris but is disconnected.
Thanks for the help.

If you press 1 itll say that anyway.
What future upgrades???? You better show a photo of what is missing.

If youre using a HD Fury on this thing youre killing the image before it gets there by the way, unless its a HDF4, then its fair, but HD Fury are all pretty much garbage for a top end projector. Their customer service isnt a patch on MOOME either.

Thanks for the interest guys,
The HD Fury is working perfectly, tested on Bg1209s and 9500LC Ultra. This is a version 3, I would upgrade with something better, but need to know what is wrong and what is missing with this unit. It was annouced as perfect working Barco with new tubes, I expect it to work because I paid for a working unit not a unit to be fixed.
Here are some more pictures, maybe some one with a Cinemax may enlight if there is something missing. It seems extremely empty compared my 1209s and 1208s.

Since you have onscreen menus, your fault has nothing to do with anything that the error LEDs will show. Most likely an input signal or video board problem. I can test them for you if you want, and do repairs if required.

The two missing boards are LimoPro and input 3 card ( you was not trying to use port 3 do you, cause that would explain your lack of picture...). Not such a drama, it is even recomanded to remove them. Use a scaller or computer instead of that stone-age internal LiMoPro and port 3 slot should be use for a internal Moome card.
The other thing missing is the fan speed-regulator on the rear fans ( R763706 ). Pull the front tray out and post a picture of it, please. A second fan speed-regulator should be there too, for the front fans.
The mains filter is not behind the rear fans neither, but i see it was moved to the left side by the previous owner.
Don't worry about the yellow cables, they look allright. Those four wires from the internal remote should go trough that black plastic ring. Else they could be striped from opening each time the moduled lid. Chassis edges are sharp.
I'm sure you should be able to get a picture out of that baby. Could be something silly, like a poor contact somewhere from during transportation. Pull out and reinsert all the cards and connectors one by one. Sometimes it helps...
