What is the potting material?


The material should not age, it shouldn't be rigid, but it has to be good electronic insulator too. But that is the least critical part, the techinque how it is used more important. There should be no air bubbles reamaining in the potted area, since the air is fairly bad isolator compared to the resin so vacuum soaking is required, that is not easy to do at home.

Couldn't you just use a vacuum pump and some heavy poly plastic like they do when making carbon fibre?

Its some sort of rubbery type stuff. Youd need a vacuum to do it in and i dont have that either.

My worries about "direct replacement or not" is not about the mechnanical replacement, but about throw.
The HD 6C ML should have the same throw as the standard HD6. I do not know about the HD145.

Theyre about the same. Its the 144s that are less throw.
