Sorry for this type of post being my first on these forums I've lurked for a while :/
I bought a Nokia 445PRO this weekend. I saw it in person and didn't appear to have this issue, but now it does. I'm thinking it either something broke on the drive home or it "fixed" itself when the seller showed it to me by "warming up".
I tried to do some research on this shrinking, expanding, and snapping -what I found was basically just that it's either on it's last legs, or there's something along the lines of a solder point that needs to be resoldered, or capacitor replaced.
If I were to guess it has something to do with power in general, because it's not just the vertical or horizontal that's shrinking/expanding it's both.
Some more details if it's useful:
-Image only expands by about an inch quickly then shrinks slowly back into place. Sounds similar to powering on/off.
-I tried a different power cables and VGA cables, and with a DVI to VGA adapter and straight VGA to VGA.
-I tried going through the menu to see if there was an "auto size correct" type setting causing havoc, also tried giving the Nokia a custom signal in hopes that a faulty size correct was the issue.
-I tried using compressed air, and even went as far as to put the monitor upside-down (no CRTs were harmed) in the hope that there was something small causing a short.
-I have a video I can upload of this shrinking/expanding. I have some cursing in it, so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here.
What should I do? The IQ is nice. I'm not sure if I should try to get it fixed since Nokia Display division doesn't exist (for a long time) and parts seem hard to find, but at the same time it might be something really simple.

Hello Max and welcome!
That sounds like a power supply issue. Are you comfortable opening it up to have a look?
Specifically for a bulging or leaking capacitor or even maybe a bad solder joint. Maybe around the High Voltage section.

Thanks for the welcome and the reply.
I might be able to open it up, but I've never opened a CRT monitor up before. I know I need to discharge something carefully, so that I don't shock myself. I'll do some more research and post some pictures if and when I've opened it up.
