There is a Lithium battery somewhere on the CPU board, you should check that how is holding up. I am not an ampro expert, but I seem to remember a weak battery can cause all kinds of problem, maybe a good point to start.

There is a fuse array around the power supply, maybe the 20V fuse gone?

Where's the lithium located? I'll measure it, should be 3,7v rite?

Put in a lesser fuse, blows.
Put in slightly heavier fuse, magic smoke comes out of rgb cart....
I think I have a short there..
Can't see it by eye.
Still the same error, I've reseated every connection possible.
I hear the tubes firing up, but it shuts off.
What to do.? Magic smoke came from right side of cart, where there's an ic labeled c64 and where there are three transistors.

With the - 20 volt fuse blown, you'll get error codes, as I believe it sends voltage to the convergence board. If the RGB board has smoked, that's where your problem is. Give me the 5 digit board number and any revision after it.

Also, take out the RGB board, put a new fuse in, and turn the projector on. See if the fuse still blows.

I've got those boards in stock for cheap.

A waste if it's not working

On the CPU board there are a row of switches. The 4th switch is to turn on the interlock detect. Flip it and try to start again.

Device reads memory failure. Because battery is dead.
However, I can turn it on, tubes get power but no fans run and smoke came from these two locations.
It does not smell burnt, it's different.

Let's make it less confusing.
I switched dip 4 on cpu card to down position.
Removed rgb card.
Power up.
Remote says memory failure.
No fans run, tubes get power.
Red light on back of psu does not light up.
-20 light stays off.
Tubes don't light.
Because fans don't run, psu overheats system shuts off.
System turns back on again, the +40 fuse blows.
System gives rgb channel 1 error
System gives 8 at 54 error.
