OK, so I'm running through these Barco 1209s sets that I got from the planetarium. It's amazing what lack of maintenance to regularly run CRT projectors will do. G2 settings all over the map, H shift off, etc. Nothing that can't be cured with some simple tweaking.
THe pix below are typical of what I've got. I did take all of their tubes with me, and I did see a couple of these sets with a bit of wear, so I'll pull those out and will replace with good tubes. Some tubes will have been changed, as I have sold them new tubes over the years, but I will make sure all have good emission, and aren't at life's end. These sets were well installed, with lots of ventilation, and there are no signs of overheating.
So here's what I've got:
4-5 Barco Graphics 1209s
-all in good working shape and tweaked up.
-all with good tubes, minimal wear since they were projecting black most of the time.
-all were running at 67Khz, so 1080p isn't an issue, unlike the Data models that have wraparound, and need a scaler
-all have G2 settings well within range of the G2 pots (so emission is good)
-all run 24 hours to check for convergence drift.
-all have the COG (convergence on green) card so stacking or blending can be done
-cases in good shape. Not perfect, the odd scratch here and there, but better than average
-IRIS included (sort of pointless, but there nonetheless)
-HD300 lenses designed for large screens, or I do have HD10L or GT17s available
-I'll throw in some spare boards since I parted out about 5 more 1209s, and have an excess.
-universal remote included with the Barco codes programmed into it.
$800 each plus shipping.
Got a lower end set? Now is the time to upgrade! You all know what 1209s look like, below are tube pix shots without flash.

With prices like these, a stack is looking really tempting. I love the picture my 1209s throws

Great pricing!
Problem is shipping will cost more than the pj, otherwise I'm sure some of the guys down under would love these.

Shipping to Australia is about the same as the projector, it's come down about 20% with the lower gas prices, but yes, shipping down under is the most expensive place in the world to ship to from North America.

The 1209s are a really darn quiet projector when compared to other CRTs. I sit right in front of my projectors, I did as Cliff did, 10' wide screen, and I sit 10' back, so I'm right in the field of vision. THe fans are at the back of the projectors, and while I can hear them, during a movie unless the scene is very quiet, I don't hear them at all.

+1. I had a Runco DTV-1100, virtually the same projector, used to be mounted right over my head. You really have to TRY hard to hear them, and don't notice them at all during a movie.

Hadnt the shipping to Europe been so expensive, I would have bought one. A 1209s in good shape throws a wonderful picture.
