I got this from a buddy a few weeks back. I knew they were collectible, so I grabbed it before he threw it out. It was filthy, but it cleaned up pretty well. It shot to $355 within hours of me listing it. I'm hoping for $500-600 final price.

Insanity. It's insanely loud, but sounds TERRIBLE!

I remember a few years ago when I saw those ghetto blasters going crazy on ebay. I've had a few from back in the day myself, should have kept them, but that was then.

Insane that people are paying that much for a boom box... some vintage component equipment doesn't even go for that!

Nice score Curt, You SUCK Thumbs Up

Judas Priest, WTH is wrong with people?

I had a really nice Sony back in the day. I couldn't have kept or sold it though because my dad smashed it to pieces when I came home from school with a piss-poor report card then got lippy with him about it. Shocked He didn't think he was getting throught to my teenage brain, so he took away one of the things I really cared about - my music.

Oh well - probably wouldn't have been worth anything now because it sounded decent and didn't have a bunch of gaudy LEDs all over it.

LOL, so Curt does this mean your not "done with E-bay"? Wink
It's funny how people complain about it until the big pay-day comes then all is forgiven.

$400. for a plastic boomer, wow, nostalgia sure is a powerful emotion.

Dejavu moment, Asked for $20. for my 16th B-day so I could get a ticket to see Rush in concert, pretty sure it was the signals tour. I bought it and set it on my dresser so I could see it every day as I counted down to the show.
Came home one day with my mother holding the ticket, and screaming about an automated phone call from the high school "your son or daughter was not in class today". followed by Rip, rip, rip and then confetti .

This high tech. snitching from the school was really cutting edge tech. back then, there was no defence except to race to the phone and hang it up as a "crank call".

I am VERY careful with what I list on ebay at this point... keep an eye on the auction, it's got 16 watchers, and it's not even 24 hours since I listed it. I predict a feeding frenzy towards the end..

the ebay buyer that filed the dispute went away, I predict he was a scammer, even though he paid in full. Go figure.

Still has two days left. Rarely does an item get near its top selling price until the final seconds... though sometimes it does.

I bet it goes way higher.

LOL Drags! I got busted all most the same way when I skipped a half day. When I got home my dad had returned home from out of town early. Fortunately, he just sternly said to never do it again or else. I think I kind of laughed as it was like a month or two from graduation.

Good god that thing is crazy

I have a few of those (I think only one survived it's full life)

It's a old soundesign brand unit I wonder what it would be worth now

Speaking of crazy I almost got one of those with a 8inch speaker in the middle and two 6inch speakers flanking it and I passed

Now I wish I hadn't Sad it could have been worth something dang it

Hey, it is a EM35, one rare magic eye (or electronic eye, if you call it like that).
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Magisches-Auge-Telefunken-EM35-NOS-versiegelte-Box-/351328684533?pt=DE_TV_Video_Audio_Elektronenr%C3%B6hren_Valves&hash=item51ccd249f5
And i'm very happy to own one of these rare things.
Congrats to Curt Smile
