Is the material above in your photos available for purchase somewhere, or is there more info about it? I've been pondering a small rear projection setup and something like what you have going on above has me interested Smile

Hmmm If this is inexpensive and can be applied to plexi glass or acrylic I could make a rear PJ set up for my blend . I have enough room behind my Screen to put the PJ's.

Funny I was going to try this out with an old DLP rear projection screen I have laying around.

I googled the DR. name and found his face book page for Visible Glass.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/VisibleGlass/1579440945612843?pnref=lhc

he has a neat video showing the glass with varying ambient light, some is really bright.
But in a complete dark it looks good. watch it in HD mode full screen.

A 13 foot rear PJ blend would be awesome in my theater.

Here is the web site !

Doc, what about viewing from directly in front. Will there be hot spotting?

How about with CRT Projectors like many use here?

If there is the possibility to see the light source( Pj lights or tube colors) can it be applied
thicker to reduce this?

Do you offer small sample amounts to cover a small area Like 2 or 3 sqr feet for testing?

There would be absolutely no hot-spotting regardless of the source. It took three years to tie everything together with this formulation and hot-spotting was tackled half-way through development. I do have samples available of various coated materials and would be willing to send some of these to you at no cost, though typically we charge for the samples just to cover the cost that goes into producing them. I will do this, I will send free samples to you and to the next two people who post within this thread requesting them. After the following two request though please no free sample questions. All I ask is that you put the material through their paces and then tell others your opinion.

Hmm for $250... I might just have to buy and try, it looks like it could be quite a neat product. I've been looking for a good RP material for glass surfaces and usually they are pretty expensive. This coating looks like it could be what I'm looking for Very Happy

Doc I think you need one more post to be able to read Private messages.

You Know this Site also sells Home theater related products. Kal is the administrator.

He might be able to set up a For sale button on the products page. It is a 10% cost of each sale goes tot he site.

Might increase your customer base.

Nash, if you get a sample of this I want to help you with it and see it in action. Between us we must have a dozen different projectors or more. CRT and digital's

I was mainly looking for feedback and to determine if there was a non-corporate market for Visible Glass and the other products I've been working on because up until this point my primary business model has been geared towards the digital signage industry.

I will send Kal a message and get his thoughts on selling products through this site, I appreciate the information, thank you.

I was at a customer site last week that was running our software on a blended 2x4K blended 45' wide RP screen. Yep. 45'. They had every part of their 18-wheeler truck and trailer at 1:1. Literally lifesize, full-scale. I was drooling.

I think its safe to say there is a definite market in the consumer area for this product. Just look at all of us on this forum alone who are interested? Very Happy

Interesting product. I have an idea for a different use, but I wouldn't be able to do anything for another month or two.

I would suggest posting over a HTshack. Those guys are probably the most knowledgeable people these days regarding screens. You could send some off to mechman for testing as he can really put it through the grinder.

I can't tell what specific gun you are using, but it looks like a regular HVLP gun with maybe a 1.8 tip.

I thought it might be an Accuspray, but the compressor noise in the background threw me. Most Accuspray users that I have come across use a turbine. I actually have a turbine system, but the turbine motor is not powerful enough to do what I want with my Accuspray 10 gun.. My advice is if you are going to loan people equipment then you should look into a turbine system. That way a customer doesn't have to worry about a compressor.
