Hi! I want to buy a blu-ray drive that doesn't cost much and i've found a very cheap blu-ray reader USB 2.0 that works also as a burner. I don't need to burn Blu-rays, i need it only to watch movies. So my question is: can it playback a Blu-ray at 1080p with no problem like maybe lagging or having other issues due to the speed of USB 2.0 or to other problems?

Thank you and have a good day!

Short answer: yes, it can play.
Long answer: blu-ray needs 50Mbps data throughput at best, while USB 2.0 is capable of transporting 480Mbps.

Ok, because on some forums i've read that with USB 2.0 maybe the reader could become hot, have issues if used for too long. Thank you, i will definetely go with it then.
