In case there is anyone here who has similar questions about the OEM, ChromaPure, and SpectraCal versions of the i1 Display, here's the AVS thread with the same subject (and OP):

Bottom line: it looks like the only difference thus far are extra tables loaded by SpectraCal or ChromaPure to better handle various display techs. However the OEM i1 Display will still handle all types of displays just fine. Of course the calibrated D3 for ChromaPure seems to be substantially lower in price than SpectraCal's C6.
