no but I would rather invest $140. into an HDMI capable receiver before doing that unless you have a special circumstance.
I am using an older higher end Denon and sending fully decoded Fluu Dolby 192Khz by having a slightly higher end BD player decode the audio and send it as 6 channel analog.

I picked up a set of 5.1 computer speakers. Since then I realized this only does old DD and DTS core so not much use.
I just got an Oppo 93 and an Oppo DVD player both with 7.1 and 5.1 outputs so this decoder isn't necessary. I'd still like to find a small box like this that will decode the newer formats and output to 7.1 or 5.1
Now if I can just find a SONY GDM-FW900 I'd be all set I currently have a SONY G520P for this mini system.
