If all goes well, I'll be picking up a Barco 1209s graphics projector next weekend. I'm currently using a Marquee 8500 which has been a workhorse for the past few years. I've had zero problems from the 8500 except that tube wear is starting to show but the picture it throws is still fantastic. I've thought about getting tubes for it,but the 1209s is too good of a deal to pass up. The tubes look to be in excellent condition. Please tell me what you think. When I get possession I'll tell you what I got it for. Hint: " You suck" will be in order. Thanks in advance guys

Here are theirs:

And here is mine:

You can easily see that burn in on the screen, and that took this projector from "good used tubes" to "good enough red, burned in blue, and f***ed green".

If you look closely at my pic of the green you can see the static image burned in from the menu screen of a Katy Appleton DVD...

I understand the point you're making. The wear does look minimal as he stated to me but there's really no way to be sure of wear until I do a visual inspection in person. I'll also add that he's giving me a replacement green tube to boot. Ill be taking a road trip to get it but I think it's worth a gamble especially seeing that I'm getting it for free. Any other thoughts?

I look forward to seeing it in action once I finally get it. I'll post pics once I pick it up. And just when I was thinking of going to a digital projector, I get pulled back in. Does the madness ever stop???? LOL

I picked up my 1209s yesterday from a member on AVSForum who is in the process of moving. It was a pleasure meeting him and his wife. They are a wonderful couple and were extremely friendly and hospitable. The 1209s is in great shape and the tubes are easily 9s according to the wear table. And I got a brand new green P19 tube to boot and the HD Fury 3 advanced kit as well as other goodies. I can say that this was quite the score for me. I can't wait to see what it can do. Now I'm one of the big boys Cool
