Panel is not adjusted until now.

You can do zone convergence on the VW200 like on a CRT.

You have the VW200? Nice one! I was looking for that one everywhere but they are sought after very much. I have the VW100 because it was cheaper but mainly the blacklevel was unacceptable. The VW200 will satisfy very much better (better black) and the VW100 did not have zone convergence but hanging it exactly right it was the best convergence for a digital I ever had. The lens was very good and sharper than the JVC I had. But when I compare to the Cine Max than only the silence of 22 dB remains. But for a digital the VW200 was the one I was looking for too. Nice!

Would be nice to have a compare between these two projectors. I am curious what your opinion is because my opinion must be biased too of cause.

The motorized lens of the VW200 is superb.

I was looking at some JVC projectors the other day that actually looked quite good, they have some sort of system that gives the illusion of 3840x2160, but im not sure if they will be bright enough to light up the 4.5 meter wide 2.37:1 screen im going to put it on...

There aren't many non-3 chip DLP pjs that will light up a 180" wide screen. I am not sure if anyone has stacked digitals, but that might be an option.

No probably not many at all, probably go ok in a very dark room though.

That is a big screen, 180 inch I will not recommend the JVC.
You need a high lumen PJ around 2-3000 lumen should be enough.
Depend the price also.

Cheep way, and maybe good enough a sony vw55.
I have seen sony vw55 and sony vw600 and the vw1000 on a 136 inch and that was more than enough punch.
The jvc x500 was to dark compared after what I felt.

Then fix it locked horrible. Your CRT looked better at that pattern. Very Happy
Do not go into the zone adjustment, hint use only hole panel shift.

I know you posted this over a month ago, but I have a VW200 for sale in the classifieds here. Excellent condition, PM me if interested.

Hi there I replaced my 1,5m vga cable with a 30cm vga breakout cable and the result is sharper than it used to be. I have the idea that the shorter vga takes the max out of this solution. To be honest when I compare these bandwith pictures I do not see much improvement but it is very hard to see. But as I said the picture looked sharper. Smile Wanted to share this info Wink

My macbook is now placed on top of the Cine max Smile

Ok for future reference and for fun here are 804p, 720p and 1080p picture showing bandwith. 720p seems to me resolved and 804p not totally at least less than the Eisemann/Moome modded barco from Francisco. I will evaluate some movies to get a feeling what a good resolved picture looks like on 720p. It seems that 804p and 1080p do not differ much in bandwith resolution.

1080p@60 148mHz
804p@60 114mHz (1920x804)
720p@60 64mHz

edit: was confused in the pictures Smile

Might be either that test pattern or the iphone, but im sure my 1-1 is alot sharper than that on RGB.

The setup was not perfect but it looked sharper than I had before so perhaps too the iphone a little? I am starting to dig into the zone adjustings but in the center that should not make a difference. But blue was defocused to get the gamma right, I have to look into that again.

Oh by the way I use a program from Nec to give the right pictures at different resolutions. Happened to be a nice program together with the nokia program.

Still I am learning on focus in all the zones and astig everywhere and I think that a skilled setupper could get more sharpness out of my Cine Max for sure!

Nice pattern.

Its clear that you will get a much sharper, dynamic and better contrast running the 720P 64Mhz resolution. As it seems to fit the bandwidth of your video chain.

Can you share that pattern with the rest of us.?
